Can You "Be, Do and Have" Anything You Want?

One of the biggest mistakes mankind has made is developed the thinking that they can't be, do or have whatever they want in life.

I've loved teaching NLP and Time Line Therapy (TLT) over the last few years. One of the strong points of TLT is the ability to rid yourself of 'limiting beliefs.' What is a limiting belief? In simple terms, it's a deep unconscious strategy you run - which results in you wholeheartedly believing, with complete conviction, that you can't be, do or have something.

You may remember from previous blogs that we are programmed by the age of 7 with all our values and beliefs. It might seem hard to imagine letting go of these deep seated limiting beliefs, but it can be done.

Let me remind you... there are actually people on earth that think the sun revolves around the earth because of it's apparent position in the sky. However, the exact opposite is true. The sun stays perfectly still, and we revolve around IT. To this end, for all practical purposes, we can act as if the sun revolves around the earth to reckon the time of day.

Most of the battle is understanding appearances. Limiting beliefs are not a physical, solid matter. We can't touch them; so why do we act as if they're real?

It's also fair to say, people new to NLP & Hypnotherapy find it hard to believe that they can change their physical circumstances with pure thought alone. It seems that some mere thought processes and exercises must be pitted up against a solid, immovable, solid reality.

Consider the following admonition: "to destroy an undesirable rate of vibration, put in operation the principle of polarity and concentrate upon the opposite pole to that which you desire to suppress." The truth of the matter is - physical reality is the final dissipation - the final "step" of our predominant mental imagery. There's no difference between units of mental force, and the units which make up our physical reality. This is a belief you must adopt.

We work as hard to fail as we do to succeed... harder in fact. A biblical allegory states, "Whatsoever your hand finds to do, do it with your might!" This doesn't mean you should exert as much force in picking up a pin as you would a crowbar. "With your might" means you must apply your whole power to whatever you do, whether the expenditure of energy be small or great.

Perhaps it can also be understood as a function of your intention. How great is your intention? Your desire? Your passion? Your drive?

Have you seen the meme? "Never do anything half assed. Always use your full ass!"

You're now at the opening gate.
